River Group to Launch Diaspora Homeownership Program

River Group Africa, in partnership with the Uganda Home Owners Association, has announced the launch of the Diaspora Homeownership Program.

A global pilot program, this initiative is designed to connect Ugandans and Africans in the diaspora with opportunities to secure real estate back home.

It will showcase housing options in Uganda and across Africa, enabling Ugandans abroad to invest in quality, reliable, and well-regulated properties.

The program forms part of a broader agenda by the Directorate of Africa Housing, with Uganda chosen as the base country due to its dynamic property market and growing leadership in real estate innovation.

By bridging the gap between diaspora communities and credible developers, the program seeks to provide access to affordable, modern, and sustainable housing solutions.

According to Dr. Edwin Musiime, Chairman of the Uganda Home Owners Association:

“The Diaspora Homeownership Program is about building trust and creating a direct pathway for Ugandans abroad to own homes without fear of fraud or mismanagement. This initiative marks a historic milestone in repositioning Africa’s housing sector for global participation.”

The program will officially be unveiled later this year, with model residences already lined up as part of the pilot phase.

The maiden projects being promoted under the Diaspora Homeownership Program include; Avenue by Modern Developers and Golf Residence by Fakhruddin Properties Uganda.

Working with vetted developers through both Uganda Home Ownership and River Group Africa, the initiative will ensure transparency, accountability, and adherence to international housing standards.
